A Miracle for Chloe

A Miracle for Chloe

I would like to introduce you to Chloe, a 12 year old Pomeranian with the spirit of a true fighter. When we met Chloe, she was an ICU patient at MedVet Cleveland West with a severe collapsing trachea. She was unable to breath without supplemental oxygen and needed emergency surgery to insert a tracheal stent–a self-expanding metallic device which is placed inside the trachea (windpipe) used to hold the airway open.

In order to receive the necessary procedure, Chloe needed to be transferred to Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital in Akron. Because of her critical condition, Squad FiftyOne was called in to provide medical care and monitoring during the transfer. The transport was lasted 35 minutes, but I can tell you as a pet parent myself, those minutes feel like years when you are worried about the health of your pet.

Because we were able to work seamlessly with the incredibly talented veterinary staff at both hospitals, Chloe was delivered without complication and was able to receive the stent to repair her airway. We are thrilled to report that Chloe is doing well and is expected to make a full recovery!

Just like with human medical care, Northeast Ohio is home to some of the best veterinary medical care in the nation and Squad FiftyOne is proud to play a role in helping pets from all over get care they need whenever and wherever they need it.
